Angela Schanelec was born in Aalen in 1962. Writer and director, she studied acting at the College of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt/Main and worked as theatre actress until 1991. Her first long feature My Sister’s Good Fortune won the German Critics’ Prize. Other films include Plätze in Städten/Places in Cities (1997/98) and Marseille (2004) presented at Cannes’ Un Certain Regard, Mein langsames Leben/Passing Summer (2001), Nachmittag and Orly.
